You cover the seating position, mirrors and controls, then the basics of moving off and stopping, before anything else is asked of you. Nothing is rushed, and nothing happens without being explained first.

- smooth braking: Progressive braking that stops the car early and comfortably.
- acceleration: Gentle acceleration that keeps pace with traffic without rushing.
- lane positioning: Holding a steady, correct position within the lane.
- mirror checks: Checking mirrors often enough to always know what is behind you.
